Our massage chairs, available in numerous models and styles, reflect the superior quality that has been standard at Marutaka right from the very beginning. In fact, our chairs were the first of their kind to be approved by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. As Japan's health industry pioneer, we are continually striving to develop new products and services for the global marketplace in the new millennium. Company History

At Marutaka, we have been earning our customers’ trust for 50 years, by providing quality products with innovative product development, consistent manufacturing processes and reliable after‒sales customer service.

  • 1960

    • 1964
      Marutaka Group was founded in Tokyo, Japan. Marutaka received certification from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, to manufacture medical devices in accordance with the laws of Japan.
    • 1967
      The Group's manufacturing division was established as an independent company. It later became Marutaka Co., Ltd., as we know it today.

  • 1980

    • 1981
      New manufacturing facilities were completed in Fujieda, Shizuoka Prefecture. The Group's manufacturing division formally moved its headquarters and manufacturing facilities to the Shizuoka plant.

  • 1990

    • 1992
      Research & development facilities were added to the Shizuoka plant, increasing total floor space to 3,975m2.
    • 1996
      The Group's manufacturing division became Marutaka Co., Ltd. Marutaka Co., Ltd. received ISO 9002 certification. The Tokyo sales office of Marutaka Co., Ltd. was opened in order to further expand sales of our products through non‒retail sales, OEM sales and overseas sales.

      Marutaka Co., Ltd. received ISO 9001:1994 certification.
    • 2002
      The development and manufacturing departments of Marutaka Co., Ltd. were spun off as an independent company, Marutaka Techno Co., Ltd.
    • 2005
      Marutaka Co., Ltd. received the 2005 Good Design Award from the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization. Marutaka Techno Co., Ltd. received ISO 13485:2003 certification.
